Domestic Violence Awareness Month – Invitation to Sponsor an Escape Bag

We have received the below notice:

As you may be aware, May is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the theme for this year is ‘It’s in our control, to end coercive control’.

This year’s theme really drives home the message that to achieve real and lasting positive cultural change, all levels of society need to be involved and take action against domestic and family violence.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month is a time for all of us to speak up about domestic abuse including coercive control, raise awareness, and support victims of this devastating but common issue to take their ‘first step to freedom’.

With that said, we would like to offer you and your team the opportunity to support Escabags by ‘Sponsoring an Escape Bag’ for a family or individual escaping domestic abuse in Australia.

Your board has decided to contribute $300 which will cover the cost of complete boxes of Escape Bags to a new Escabags Stockist in or around our community. This is an indirect method of supporting our next DG’s wish to do everything possible to support action against domestic violence during the next Rotary Year.
