ECO TOUR CHOWDER BAY
Arranged by Alan Toner – Sydney Harbour EcoWalks Tours
On Tuesday 7 June we replaced our usual Tuesday Lunch Meeting with an optional walking tour in our local area.
Members gathered at 10am at Chowder Bay where we met our guide Alan Toner and his assistant. The tour of Chowder Bay was specifically designed for our group. Features of the tour were Acknowledgement of Country, Small Ships Squadron of Chowder Bay, Encounters with local birdlife, Scenic Views along the water’s edge, Angophora Forest Walk, The Manor talk and the Colonial history of Chowder Bay.
Around 12.30pm we returned to our meeting place where appreciation and thankyou’s were expressed from both Alan, and Dom Rabu on behalf of the club.
The weather was perfect for the walk and we look forward to further EcoWalks with Alan in the future – North Head, Middle Head, Georges Heights all being his specialties.
Lunch at Archie Bear Mosman Rowers was optional – President Mark was able to join the lunch group to hear all about our morning. A really great social event now that we are able to get out and about again!
