Members of the Rotary Club of Mosman attended the National Tree Planting Day Day 2022. It was decided that Rotary could make a contribution to this event in Mosman.
A small group, President Mark, Treasurer David with Shirley and myself decided to join the activity. It did take a while to find the location because there are two Ashton Parks in Mosman and we all turned up at the one overlooking Mosman Bay. There was no one there and then we discovered Little Ashton Park is located beside Taronga Zoo.
When we found the correct location we were pleased to see that there was a large number of tree planters at work – with a at least 20 families, some with small children, putting their hands together to plant the small tree plants that had been supplied by Mosman council.
In the end it was a job well done with nearly 500 small plants all dug into the bushland area outside Taronga Zoo.
Mayor Carolyn Corrigan was in attendance, and we had a quick photo taken of Rotarians at work with their gardening skills.
