Emily Rice was our candidate for a Rotary District 9685 Global Grant Scholarship. She won a Scholarship for US$30,000 to study for her Masters in International Affairs, with a specialization in International Conflict Resolution at Columbia University. She will commence her studies this August.
She is currently working at an NGO in Sydney where she contributes to projects supporting post-conflict justice in Sri Lanka and other conflict-affected countries. Her previous work includes investigating human rights violations during the civil war in Colombia and interning at the United Nations High Commission for Human Rights in Geneva. Outside of work, Emily is committed volunteer for a program that helps refugee and asylum seeker youth adjust to life in Sydney.
